​We had a family party of 15 in a holiday home to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Mike cooked a wonderful three course dinner and provided canapes beforehand. All the food was delicious and much appreciated by everyone. Mike brought a waitress (Lydia) who also laid the table and served the drinks and canapes before the meal which made for a very convivial and relaxing atmosphere. Mike and Lydia were a great team and we have no hesitation in recommending Mike’s services.

We recently had Mike and his team out to cook for our group of 20, for my husband’s birthday. It was truly superb. The group were all so impressed with the food; the quality of the ingredients, the cookery skill and the tweaks made for those with dietary requirements - especially as it was all prepared in a domestic kitchen in a holiday house.
During our early chats, we really liked Mike’s straightforward communication style and transparent pricing. The evening was a slick operation and the team worked efficiently to clean everything down and quietly left us to enjoy the rest of our evening.
We would not hesitate to recommend Mike and his team and really hope to taste some more of his cooking in the future!

We have only superlatives to describe the 80th birthday event Mike and his amazing team created for us. His professionalism, presentation of cuisine and flavor profiles are off the charts incredible. We hosted canapé and Champagne for 29 and Mike and his staff did their very best to ensure we were able to be relaxed and enjoy our guests. Everyone was is awe of every delicious bite. We highly recommend this very talented chef.

My family and I went on a short break to Borton-on-the-water and whilst we were there it was my mum's birthday. As a surprise, rather than heading out to a restaurant for dinner we hired private chef Mike Fishpen to cook for us. We went with the six course menu as detailed on his website and each course was delicious and packed full of flavour. Mike took the time to present and explain each course as it was served.
Mike was very friendly, quick to respond with my enquiries and questions, and I would definitely hire him to cook for us again.
We also opted to have a waitress for the evening, which allowed us to sit back, relax and enjoy the dinner as our drinks were served to us and the clearing up at the end of the night was done for us.
It was a very high quality restaurant dinner in the comfort of our holiday cottage, I highly recommend hiring Mike for any occasion.

Mike stepped in last minute (due to a cancellation) to save the day and help create a wonderful New Year’s Eve menu for 10 of us. The food was faultless from the canapés to dessert; the scallops and filet were incredible. The waitress laid the table beautifully and was very attentive, constantly offering and pouring drinks. Mike described each dish when served and left everything spotless. Nobody had to lift a finger. A wonderful and memorable evening was created and we could not recommend Mike highly enough.

We hired Mike for an 8 course menu for my father-in-laws 60th birthday celebrations. We were staying in the Cotswolds for a few days and found Mike after searching online, throughout the whole process Mike was super responsive to all our questions and queries and helped us to personalise the menu for our group. On the day of the meal Mike arrived and set everything up with the lovely Anja looking after us with drinks and canapés. Every single course was absolutely stunning and we were still talking about how good the food was days later!
We wouldn't hesitate to book Mike again and will be recommending him to anybody looking for a private chef for a special occasion.

We hired Chef Mike to create us a holiday menu for our holiday Thanksgiving. Not only was the meal wonderful, but Mike was a pleasant person to have around - making our holiday extra special. The pumpkin pie, butternut squash soup and green bean casserole were so good that it may have just convinced us to come back every year! Spoiled indeed.

I booked Mike Fishpen a personal chef for a 6 course meal for my husband’s surprise birthday meal.
He was very efficient in his communications with me.
He arrived on time with lots of his own culinary equipment.
The food was first class with great flavours and exactly right size portions. He introduced each course and mentioned where he sourced the food from.
Would highly recommend this chef. My husband was so surprised and thoroughly enjoyed each course.

Mike catered for 9 at my 50th birthday at Dover’s Rise in the Cotswold. Mike was brilliant from beginning to end. From the planning phase weeks before the event, to execution on the day. The food was delicious. The service was seamless and clear up was as if he and Carol had not been there at all. The memories will last a lifetime and we'll definitely be hiring him again.

Having hired a house in the Cotswolds to celebrate my 50th with a group of family and friends, I was very excited to hire a private chef and Mike produced an absolutely fabulous evening of canapes followed by a three course dinner. Notwithstanding that all cooking had to be done on an AGA which seemed to have only one temperature level (hell-fire hot) the food was absolutely exceptional and barely a crumb was left on anyone's plate. Mike introduced every course and everything was just presented beautifully - consensus on the table was that it was one of the best meals we had ever eaten. Waiting staff were also amazing and kitchen was left spotless afterwards.

Chef Michael was punctual professional and food was to a very high standard, the home made sourdough bread was superb along with all the food.
His suggestion that I would need a waiter (although I was a bit tentative) was spot on and left us to enjoy the experience. The waiter (another Michael!) was professional and courteous and made my wife’s 60th go without a hitch. Also no washing up to do when everyone has left!!!!

This was the second time Mike has cooked for us and yet again presented us with the most delicious 6 course meal, cooked to perfection.
Mike's communication leading up to the date was brilliant, making sure he had all of our dietary requirements and adjusting the menu to suit.
He was punctual, polite and left the kitchen spotless.
Carol, our waitress for the evening, was really friendly and made sure our drinks were always topped up!
I would 100% recommend Mike to anyone who would like that extra special dining experience and can't wait to book him again!

Mike cooked a beautiful meal for my husband’s special birthday. We were staying in an Airbnb in the Cotswolds that luckily had everything we needed! It was a fantastic evening, Mike produced beautiful, tasty food and he and Carol, his trusty helper, were so relaxed and efficient, I could leave everything to them and enjoyed the evening too! The meal was definitely the highlight of the weekend and I can’t recommend Mike highly enough. We would definitely do again if the opportunity presented itself.
